Email etiquette is something I've always taught, however, my CTE department and noticed the need for it has become even more crucial after the season of COVID and hybrid learning. If your school is allowing students to select remote learning like mine, then you've probably been receiving several emails from your students (most of which are sent late into the evenings or weekends LOL). First thing first: I LOVE MY STUDENTS. But I do not love the way they compose and write emails. I knew there had to be a better way, so I decided to revamp the way I teach Email Etiquette.

Here's what you can expect when you purchase and receive the Google Drive Folder:

  • A detailed lesson plan with step-by-step instructions
  • An editable, detailed yet simple slide deck that consists of a warm-up, agenda, lesson intro, 20 min. the lesson, independent practice, and assessment
  • The lesson provides details & examples for the following:
    • Recipient
    • Carbon Copy & Blind Carbon Copy
    • Subject
    • Greeting
    • Body
    • Closing
    • Signature

  • A slide showing students how to access their school Gmail accounts
  • A practice template for students to draft their emails before sending
  • An assessment piece that requires students to email a teacher
  • 3 different pdf anchor charts (2 of which are editable to fit your needs)
  • A slide showing students how to access their school Gmail accounts

This lesson utilizes Google Slides and is compatible with Google Classroom. Slides can be edited, downloaded or converted into PDFs for other learning platforms that your district may use.

❤️ You will LOVE using this lesson because of the aesthetic design and how seriously low prep it is. Your students will also appreciate the clear, step-by-step instructions and layout and should leave this lesson feeling confident in reaching out to their teachers.
